Composer: Saint-Saëns, Camille
Sample Producer: Lavender Audio
Sample Set: Hereford Cathedral Willis Organ
Genre: Romantic
Description:
I thought I'd create a full performance of this wonderful symphony (probably my favourite), but I was waiting till I could buy the Hereford Organ before completing the project.
I 'performed' this in Hamburg's Cathedral using Quantum Leap's 4 second Convolution reverb.

I played in all the orchestral parts from my keyboard, and used East West's Hollywood Platinum orchestral samples.

This took me a huge amount of time to create, and I could spend many more hours tweaking it, but this is good enough (and I'm not sure my wife would allow me to devote more time to this).
I doubt there are many performances of this work with Hauptwerk !

I've got many recordings of this work, but the organ in all but one very early one (EMI) all fall short because the organ used wasn't big enough. In one recording the orchestra was recorded in a separate acoustic that rendered the performance very odd sounding.

I'm not particularly keen on the Mixtures on the Hereford Organ (I much prefer the Salisbury, but couldn't afford that one), but I do like the 32 ft stops !

Enjoy (if you do !)
