Manuscript Mus Ms 30195 contains three preludes by Johann Peter Kellner, two of which are followed by a fugue. As far as I could find these three have not been published before. They are typical works by Kellner in that the quality is not very consistent. The first has a very uninspired prelude that is followed by a very nice fugue. The second has a nice idea that is however unevenly worked out and contains a lot of compositional or transcription errors. The third and last one is the most consistent, with a concertant prelude and a short manualiter fugue, based on a chromatic theme.
This is the third of the three. It is perhaps the most even of the three. The prelude contains some nice passage work. The fugue is a charming conclusion, light in touch as it is manualiter, spicened by the chromatic end of the fugue theme.
