Description: | My second upload of the Credo chorale by Samuel Scheidt (1587-1654). He was a German composer, organist and teacher of the early Baroque era.
Scheidt was born in Halle, and after early studies there, he went to Amsterdam to study with Sweelinck, the distinguished Dutch composer, whose work had a clear influence on Scheidt's style. On his return to Halle, Scheidt became court organist, and later Kapellmeister, to the Margrave of Brandenburg.

I play this piece in a rather slow tempo to give the quaver (the eighth note) enough time and space, especially those played in the pedal part.
Performed on the the Schnitger organ at Zwolle (and on the Muller organ at Haarlem, see my other upload: http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/31588).
I used a 16 ft plenum registration, but nevertheless tried to keep it 'light' and transparent.
I used a Silbermann temperament.
I hope you'll like it.
Which performance do you prefer? Zwolle or Haarlem?
Enjoy!
