According to Couperin suggestion, the two Musètes must be performed one after the other, without interruption.
These Musètes include the ‘bourdon’ (for the left hand), the “sujet” (for the right hand) and a “contre-partie”, entrusted to a second harpsichord or to another solo instrument (for example a flute), which can be omitted, when the second instrument is missing (as unfortunately in this case).
