Canzonetta in G. BuxWV 172 Uploaded by: wolfram_syre Composer: Buxtehude, Dieterich Organ: 1723 F. C. Schnitger, Duurswoude, Netherlands Software: Hauptwerk IV Views: 298
The solo stop is the Positif's Basson 16' played an octave higher. The Trompette is too strong and the Cromorne too 'rural/rustic France' so the Basson has to do. The use of a diapason had a nice effect but there was no real contrast.
I heard this being played in a video of the Wanamaker organ and it really worked quite well - although the Wanamaker has the advantage of a better string-stop division!
