Anthony O’Toole (b. 1988) — Patres Desertum (2019) for organ

“Patres Desertum” (2019) takes its inspiration from the “Desert Fathers,” the early Christian ascetics who lived in Egypt during the third century and whose communities and practices became a significant influence on the development of Christian monasticism.

American composer Anthony O’Toole (b. 1988) was educated at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and George Mason University. O’Toole has written numerous works in nearly all genres, and his music for wind band has been particularly widely performed and commissioned.
