I stumbled across this and a few other fun pieces by Boëllmann as I was leafing through a stack of old music in search of relatively easy postludes for Sundays. According to the volume cover, the collection Heures Mystiques was published in 1896 and intended for "orgue ou harmonium"--and for manuals only, apparently, though I do add pedals wherever it makes good sense. In order to optimize one's playing of these quintessentially Parisian pieces, it might be helpful to drink beforehand a glass or two of chilled water cum Pernod in order to get into the Gallic spirit of the piece.
