| Description: | Oliver Kentish (b. 1954) — Méditation (1997) for organ
Oliver Kentish (b. 1954) was born in England and educated as a cellist at the Royal Academy of Music. In 1977, he moved to Reykjavík, Iceland to become co-principal cellist of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, and in 1989 became an Icelandic citizen. He is the Artistic Director of the Iceland Amateur Symphony Orchestra. As a composer, Kentish has written music in many genres, one of his most notable projects being “Mitt Folk” (1993) for baritone and orchestra, commissioned by the British government as a tribute for the 50th anniversary of the Icelandic republic.
