Santino Cara (b. 1957) — Adagio in D major, CS100-2 (2007) for organ
Santino Cara (b. 1957) was born in Palestrina, Italy. His initial music studies began in the late 1960s with Father Luigi Buttiglieri, who taught him the organ. In the 1980s, Cara began composing and has since written more than 400 works in all musical forms. His style is generally very traditional, and he has written many works especially for the organ, piano, and choruses. Most of his organ works are “chorales”—freely composed pieces of varied moods with a predominantly sacred orientation.
