| Description: | Ingvar Knutsén (1932–2005) — Meditation No. 2 (1988) for organ
Ingvar Knutsén (1932–2005) was a Swedish composer and organist who served as the organist at Vantörs kyrka in Stockholm. Described by his colleagues as self-effacing and quiet, Knutsén composed and published fewer than 10 pieces. His music employs a distinctly personal approach within the mid-20th century Swedish contemporary style, employing distinctively bittersweet harmonies (filled with false relations) and a tremendous economy of means.
“Tre små meditationer (Three Small Meditations)” date from 1988 and are beautiful and sensitive pieces, filled with bittersweet harmonies.
