Alan Lees (b. 1928) was born in Salford, England and raised in North Wales. He read modern languages and law at Edinburgh. He was called to the bar at Gray’s Inn in 1952, beginning what was to become a busy legal practice in Chester. He has written much music for chorus and chamber ensembles, and a few works for organ.
