I am very happy with the new update of Caen v. 2.5. The larger dynamic range of the swell is really a benefit, such as can be heard in this piece. Also the sound is much fuller and brighter. This upload is made with purely the Wet part of the Surround set (no mixing with surround channels).
The largest movement in the entire set of 24 Pièces de Fantaisie, Cathédrales is a majestic Largo molto sostenuto in the key of A major. It clearly is meant to suggest the grandeur and the balanced majesty of great Gothic cathedrals. Vierne skillfully contrasts quieter interludes with full organ passages of increasing power.
