Laurenskerk - Main Organ - 1973 Marcussen & Son

Software: | Hauptwerk IV |
Genre: | Baroque |
Description: | The first piece that I ever learned "from actually reading the music," as opposed to "figuring it out..."
I had an old recording of this played by Anton Heiller on a "modern" Metzler organ. The registration he used was a Regal with tremulant, and it has always been my "ideal" sound for this piece.
The Regaal (with trem!) of the Borstwerk is even nicer! It is accompanied by the Holpijp of the Rugwerk, and the Open Subbass and Gemshoorn in the Pedaal.
On a humorous/personal note, a VERY famous female organist once told me that I had the "nicest trills ever" in the way I played 'em... Well, gee... Thanks! ;-)
Speaking of trills, I played this from the "Wiener Urtext Edition," and it a few "extra" trills in there. So, since I already have the "nicest trills ever" in this piece, a few more can only make it even nicer... :-) |
