Résignation (Op. 55 - 24 Pièces de Fantaisie 4e Suite nr II)

Résignation - dedicated á mon éléve Henri Gagnebin, Directeur de Conservatoire de Genéve, is the second part of the fourth Suite of the 24 Pièces de Fantaisie.
 An Adagio molto sostenuto in the key of F sharp major, this movement begins with a lyrical chorale. Subsequent restatements of the theme add new colorations, until it has moved to the ethereal sound of the Voix céleste registration. The piece ends tranquilly.
