When the engineers were sampling the Balzan Parish organ, occasionally they were interrupted by the pealing bells of the church. One of the engineers decided to record the bells and then added a special switch on the console to play them.
Domenico Zipoli was the organist for the Church of the Gesu in Rome.
The "Elevazione" is played using the Principale on the manual with Contrabasso in the pedal.
In this recording the bells are sounded both before and after the "Elevazione" is played.
