Software: | Hauptwerk IV |
Genre: | Contemporary |
Description: | I came across this by accident while searching for new music to play. I thought that I recognized the composer's name, and it turns out that he has quite a number of organ performances on youtube.
This piece is really quite something else! I just wish that there was MORE of it, or that it lead into other movements! As it is, it's over before it starts... :-(
However, it makes quite the statement in its 90 seconds!
He has some other organ music, so, maybe I can do some of these.
Composed in 2004, the first section, "alla-Messiaen" depicts the text: "You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent."
The second section, "meno mosso" depicts the text: "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand."
The final section: "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord: "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.""
So, what do you think?!? ;-) |
