In these 3 organ chorals Pepping follows the old tradition to symbolize the Son's obedience to the Father by a canon. No. 1 is manualiter, the melody in the soprano, the two lower voices forming a canon in the 9th.

BTW, the Trost performs very well for this kind of music, even with the original temperament.
