| Description: | This piece, written in 1970 or not much earlier, is often performed in a version for soprano and orchestra and -- incongruously but reliably -- attributed to early baroque composer Giulio Caccini. Some information about this curious phenomenon is provided in both the video and the video description. I tried several sample sets for this recording, and though it is difficult to make this piece sound bad it certainly sounded best by far on the Körmend Angster. (Hauptwerk labels this organ "Kormend Angster-1". Will we get Kormend Angster-2? There is indeed another Angster organ, a decade older than this one from the catholic parish church, in the protestant parish church at Körmend.) |
