Description: | In dir ist Freude
Written by the Italian priest Giovanni Gastoldi around 1591.
It is a very popular melody in German and Dutch churches.
Dutch organist Johan van Dommele wrote a very nice and small Choral Prelude on it, with a wink at the F-Dur Toccata by J.S. Bach.
The melody consists of two different blocks, which are both repeated in singing, in a-a, b-b form.
In this recording the melody is played first, unisono, and without repeats, to give an idea of the melody, followed by the prelude.
I hope you enjoy it.
