Leon Boellmann was born at 1862-09-25 in Ensisheim, Elsace. He was a student of Eugène Gigout in the "Ecole Niedermeyer" conservatory in Paris. In 1881 he became organist of the choir organ, in 1896 of the main organ in the Vincent-de-Paul church in Paris. He died in 1897.
In comparison to his famous "Suite gothique" his "Deuxième Suite" is rather unknown. It contains the four movements "Prélude Pastoral", "Allegretto con moto", "Andantino" and "Final - Marche".
