| Description: | Organ transcription by J.S. Bach of Antonio Vivaldi's "Concert in A minor" for strings.
This is a continuation of my trying to revive this piece from my Senior Recital at California State University, Fresno from approximately 45 years ago.
Many thanks to Dave (Agnus_Dei), who has been giving me pointers on how to make improvements in my performance. It is still a long way from perfect, but I believe I've definitely made improvements. One comment from several listeners was that I needed to play it slower, so this one is about 15 seconds longer than the performance on the Zwolle organ a while back: http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/17213
Although the Rotterdam Transept organ doesn't have the deep rich tones like Zwolle, it does have a more articulate sound that brings some extra character to this work. I especially like the pedal reed, which isn't overbearing, yet makes the pedal line very clear. |
