The last three Trio’s by Mohrheim are based on chorale melodies. They are not real Trio’s in that it is music for just three voices. This fifth trio is actually a four voice piece. It is more a chorale prelude, than it is a Trio. But all this doesn’t really matter. It is a beautiful piece that deserves to be played and heard.
