This recent work, Prélude Sentimental Op. 8, describes my feelings about the humanitarian catastrophe that now is taking place in the world.
“In times when thousands of refugees are dying
in ice cold water heading for unknown destinies
escaping from war, cruelty and poverty
mislead by false expectations for a better world
when all borders of humanity seem to close
one gets sentimental remembering the days
when the world seemed to be quiet and at peace….”
The accompanying YouTube movie uses pictures made in a picturesque cemetery in the small town Zelnava in the Czech Republic.
