The rather forgotten English composer Roger Quilter penned this overture for his mini opera based on English nursery rhymes. At times it is slightly lacking in musical cohesion however, there are some brilliant and inspired moments plus some lovely harmonies and textures. Listen out for the Bach like fugue section based on "a frog who would a wooing go" and other gems. Since there is no available organ transcription, I made my own from several score sources. Although rather difficult in parts, it is possible to play.
