Jerker Leijon (1956–2009) — Bön (Prayer) (1986) for organ Leijon (1956–2009) was a Swedish composer, church musician, and choral director. He was particularly reknowned nationally for his work as a choir trainer with amateur ensembles. In 1988 he wrote a book on the subject of how to teach anybody to sing in a choir, and thus began a national effort entitled “Kör för alla” (Choir for All). Leijon composed primarily for voices, though also published a few instrumental works, including several organ pieces. He died via suicide in late 2009.
