Description:
Generally known as ANCHORS AWAY but composed with the title as listed.It was first played during the Army–Navy football game in 1906 in which NAVY pulled an upset over Army after years of losing. The Original Lyrics.:
"Stand Navy down the field, sails set to the sky;
We'll never change our course, So Army you steer shy-y-y-y.
Roll up the score, Navy, anchors aweigh!
Sail Navy down the field and sink the Army, sink the Army grey!" Later rewritten but to this day its never been approved as the official song of the US NAVY. Taken from a scanned piano roll from the QRS factory in Buffalo NY.
