Description: | For those interested -
I am currently traveling by sailboat (Singlehanding 33' Gaff rigged cutter) from NY harbor to Melbourne, FL.
I am currently close to the SC-GA border.
I am blogging the trip and creating musical sketches as I go along. I seldom have enough Internet access to post to Contrebombarde, but since this evening I do, I will upload some of the pieces. In general, they are quasi-improvisatory, for HW organ, synthesizers and found audio.

More gliding than swimming, these aristocrats of the water move effortlessly creating almost no disturbance of the glassy surface. I am a little embarrassed by my noisy rowing but if the pair of swans took offense they do not show it. Instead of shying away, they swim towards me. I suppose they sense no malice in me. I sense none in them. For a long time we stare at each other - their eyes are almost human. Or maybe mine are almost avian. As if by silent mutual consent they finally turn away and I pick up an oar and attempt to turn my little skiff as unobtrusively as possible. As they glide off I'm certain I hear one say to the other, "you see, they can sometimes learn." |
