Hymn to Fog and Compass - Day 33

For those interested -

I am currently traveling by sailboat (Singlehanding 33' Gaff rigged cutter) from NY harbor to Melbourne, FL.

I am currently close to the SC-GA border.

I am blogging the trip and creating musical sketches as I go along. I seldom have enough Internet access to post to Contrebombarde, but since this evening I do, I will upload some of the pieces. In general, they are quasi-improvisatory, for HW organ, synthesizers and found audio.

It was a "Lord, I believe ... Help my unbelief" moment.
I KNEW I was reading the compass correctly. I KNEW I had plotted the course correctly. I knew, despite almost no visibility, that there was no reason to expect anything but to arrive at my next waypoint. Yet still I was profoundly grateful when I saw at last the unmistakable signs of the inlet. I knew. And yet I was relieved.
Faith happens in stages - faith in our selves - faith in our fellow man - faith in G-d: with each successive step we discover there is yet another level; a richer trust waiting for us.
