Armando Pierucci (b. 1935) — Elevazione (1987) for organ

Armando Pierucci (b. 1935) is an Italian composer, organist, and member of the Franciscan order. He was educated at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome and the conservatories in Naples and Pesaro. After serving as organ professor at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro, in 1988 he became organist at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Until 1999 he was the Chief Editor of the magazine “La Terra Santa” published by the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land. Pierucci was also the president and founder of the Magnificat Musical Institute in Jerusalem. His output as a composer includes numerous sacred works in all genres, including two major cantatas: “Via Crucis” and “De Profundis.”
