Another piece from the “The Wöchentliche Nachrichten und Anmerkungen die Musik betreffend”, edited by Johann Adam Hiller. No composer is indicated in the original source. So perhaps the piece is written by Hiller himself. Yet in character there is a strong resemblance the piece by Kehl I uploaded 5 days ago. Hiller was perhaps inspired by Kehl, or this piece is indeed from Kehl.
If anyone knows for sure, I’d like to hear it.
Although not indicated in the score, I play this piece as if forte sections (Hoofdwerk) and mezooforte sections (Rugwerk) were indicated. The choral melody is then played on the Hoofdwerk, accompaniment on the Rugwerk.
