Software: | Hauptwerk IV |
Genre: | Baroque |
Description: | La Bergamasca is a simple 4 bar Tonic – Predominant – Dominant – Tonic progression. La Bergamasca was as popular as La Follia, La Monica, Il Ruggiero, or La Romanesca. For its relation to Bach’s Goldberg variations see
http://www.bach-cantatas.com/Articles/BWV988-Quodlibet[Braatz].htm.
This is a nasty piece and it took me many attempts to produce a more or less clean version. I am sure it is much easier to play on the very precise “hängende Traktur” (no idea how that translates into English, perhaps “suspended action”) than on my Fatars.
I decided in favor of Prospectum’s Tzschöckel Trunk Organ (St. Maria Nordheim) with a ¼ mean-tone temperament. It is a pity we have only very few postings with this nice free sampleset on CCH. The score is on imslp.org. |
