Description: | The last piece of Lohet there is for me to publish is a four voice treatment of Psalm 125. It’s not based on the melody of Psalm 125 as we know it. Rather it is the melody composed by Matthäus Greiter (1495 – 1550), the Kantor of the Strassburg cathedral.
The last chord of bar 22 is probably an error, as it is strangely dissonant. It is however not listed in the errata in the original publication of Woltz. The recording features the chord as it appears in the original publication. The score features a more consonant chord, with a footnote indicating the original.
For comparison, Erik Simmons ("Hoofdwerk") recently uploaded this piece as well: http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/22501
