Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow or Zachau (14 November 1663, Leipzig – 7 August 1712, Halle) was a German musician and composer of vocal and keyboard music.
He was Handel's first music teacher and taught him to play the organ, among other instruments.
This piece is in two halves. The first is repeated and a less ornamented though I suppose a fugue like playing of the choral. The second part is more ornamented but short.
I play this on the Great with Positive coupled to start with. The repeat is the Trumpet of the Recit. I then add the Plein Jeu and Doublette to the Great for the final part.
Hope you enjoy.
John
*EDIT: I'm sorry I don't know what happened to the end reverb - it must have been cut when I extracted this from my recording! Sorry!
