Description:
Albert de Klerk (1917-1998) was a Dutch organist, composer and director.

He studied with Anton van der Horst, Cornelis de Wolff and Hendrik Andriessen.
In 1939 he gained a Cum Laude degree for organ and improvisation.

He was the church organist of the St. Joseph organ in Haarlem, the organ was played by Hendrik Andriessen before him.

He was also for a long time the Haarlem City-Organist from 1956 till 1982, together with Piet Kee, one of the most prestigious posts in the Netherlands, playing the famous Muller organ in concerts in the Grote of St. Bavokerk.

Moreover he was the organist of the Haarlem Concert Hall.

Albert de Klerk composed for organ solo, three concerti for organ and orchestra, various orchestral works, vocal music and church music.
