| Description: | Johann Th. Lemckert (*1940 Den Haag) was appointed organist of the three organs of the St. Laurenskerk in Rotterdam, when he was only 28 years old.
He studied at the Den Haag Conservatorium. His teachers there were Adriaan Engels for organ, Janny van Weering for harpsichord and Jan van Dijk for composition, harmony and counterpoint.
He studied improvisation with Cor Kee, French baroque music with Marie Claire Alain and was with Gaston Litaize for a two year period specializing in the works of Ceasar Franck and Olivier Messiaen.
After that he played recitals all over Europe and the United States on the most important organs.
He was appointed professor at the Den Haag conservatorium after completing his studies. Many of his pupils have glittering careers.
