Composer: Bach, J. S.
Sample Producer: Sonus Paradisi
Sample Set: Zwolle, St. Michael
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Baroque
Description:
This fughetta also bears the title of a christmas hymn, 'Christum wir sollen loben schon', but I guess this is only because the tune is best known under this title, while the other hymn, for Epiphany, is the one this fughetta is really about.

The theme ornaments seem to highlighten the words 'fürchtst' (fear) and 'Feind' (enemy), while Herod's name is called many times throughout the piece. And to me, the overall atmosphere of the piece does not seem like a song of praise, which 'Christus wir sollen loben schon' is.
