Our member on the Concert Hall Alex19807 kindly offered me a set of 10 Fabordones (fauxbourdons) to play on the Poblet Metzler.
He suggested they might do a fine job on the reeds of the Metzler and he is right!
Thanks very much Alex!
For more info on fauxbourdons or Fabordones: please see Wikipedia. There’s lots of info there.
So here is the complete set:
I played them in many contrasting ways, some of them repeated a second time on a different registration, sometimes with the penetrating reeds and alternatively with soft flue stops to clear up the ears again.
It was not my intention to play them according to performance practice, but to make this ancient music sound good on a marvelous newly built organ.
N.B: The trompetteria is played from the UW manual.
Enjoy! (I hope)
