Description:
Last night, I stumpled upon David's fine performance of Basil Harwood's Quiet Voluntary for Evensong:

Surprisingly enough, I didn't get stuck on the voluntary so much, but on the hymn tune that preceded it. Over night, this tune had settled in my mind so that I was able to instantly reproduce it by ear. (That's why I played it in F-major, because I was assuming that as a "best guess" for most common hymn literature.)

After a bit of research on the piece and finally zapping through the attachments that David had uploaded with the "hymnuntary", I discovered that a) it was written in G-major instead of F and b) that the melody was written by the German composer and church musician Justin Heinrich Knecht. Although I did not yet find a version with German lyrics, I discovered one with different English lyrics here:

In case there is a version in the German EGB or GL that any German members of The Hall know of, I would greatly appreciate to get to know the song number. -- Many thanks in advance.
