Sonate in g-minor

This is a recording made with the new Sonus Paradisi sample set of the Rosales organ in Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland. The set will be released within a couple of days.

Becker's works were heavily influenced by the famous French organ composers of his time and that goes for this Sonate too. Let's start with the Praeludium festivum: it reminds me of Guilmant's Third Sonate.
