Husumer Orgelbuch: 2. Präludium, Fuge, Adagio, and Chaconne in D

The second piece in the Husumer Orgelbuch is by composer Hinrich Zinck, and opens with a marvelous Präludium. After 6 introductory measures, we are treated to echo passages alternating between two manuals until the final 3 measures of the piece. The fugue is primarily in 3 voices, although a 4th voice joins the texture for the last 6 bars. The Chaconne is based on a 4-bar theme that is subjected to 18 variations before a final 4-bar coda.
