Description: | One of my favourite things is to look through charity shops for old sheet music. 9 times out of 10 what I buy is junk and ends up going back to the charity shop. Sometimes I'll like a piece or two in a book. However, this week I found a gem -- and only for 79p!
The Orpheus Voluntaries Book 2. 12 pieces composed by J E Newell in what appears to be 1910, with this book coming from the 1950s I believe. The following is thanks to klink:
Hi, I dug up the following info on J E Newell which I found in - Dictionary of Composers for the Church in Great Britain and Ireland. His date of death is not given but it seems to be about the 1910 mark. Hope it helps.
Cheers
Brian

There are a variety of pieces for every occasion in a service and everyone I have played so far is great!
We come to the end of the book with this lovely march. It calls for ff, which I duly oblige. There are quieter parts in it, but all the time the reeds are playing.
Hope you enjoy and if you have been following this series that something has been enjoyable for you and thank you for listening.
