Bernard Reichel (1901–1992) — Intermède en échos (1978) for organ
Bernard Reichel (1901–1992) was a Swiss composer and organist. Born in Montmirail, he spent most of his live in Geneva. He taught harmony at the Geneva conservatory for 20 years and served on the faculty of the Dalcroze Institute for 53 years. He was also organist for two Protestant churches in Geneva (Chêne-Bougeries and Eaux-Vives.) Reichel’s musical style is resolutely tonal and influenced by Swiss folk music and the medieval modes. He wrote music in nearly all genres. Reichel was a good friend of fellow Swiss composer Frank Martin and completed the orchestration of Martin’s final work.
