You are listening to my second CBCH submittal since Inspired Acoustics released the Melbourne Town Hall Organ sample library in late February, 2018.
I have been fiddling, tweaking and generally adjusting the voicing and overall volume balance between individual pipes within stops and between various stop groups.
As far as I know, this is a world-premiere presentation of the highly contrapuntal second movement of Mahler's Symphony #2 in organ transcription form. There is no formally published arrangement of this piece in existence; I have been studying the full orchestral scores to most of Mahler's symphonies since the early 1970s (especially #1, #2 and #8), and this registration is of my own undertaking. In some places, the registration mimics the full score; in other places, the registration makes use of the unique tonal colors of the Melbourne Town Hall organ.
