Description:
Ludwig Ebner (* 3. November 1858 in Deggendorf/Bavaria; † 25. August 1903 ibid.) was a German composer and church musician.
Ebner had his first music lessons from his father at the age of eight, especially in organ playing. He received further training in the monastery of Metten and later with cathedral organist J. Hanisch in Regensburg. At the age of seventeen he was assigned the position of organist at the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Deggendorf. After the death of his father, he also took over his position as choir director. Not tired of learning, he became a pupil of Joseph Rheinberger in Munich and studied counterpoint with him, which he completed with distinction. Ebner died at the age of 44 after a serious illness.
imslp.org lists 66 compositions by Ludwig Ebner, mainly church music.

10 Trios for organ op. 48. were published by J. G. Boessenecker, Regensburg 1899 [ cf. https://imslp.org/wiki/10_Trios,_Op.48_(Ebner,_Ludwig) ]. They are of moderate difficulty and include no special indication towards registration. So choosing a tempo a bit on the slow side to avoid too many playing errors (sorry for the ones still included) I decided to play each of them on a different organ sample showing different approaches to produce an appropriate sound for this kind of music.
