Composer: Richardson J. E.
Sample Producer: Milan Digital Audio
Sample Set: Salisbury Cathedral Father Willis
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Romantic
Description:
John Elliot Richardson born in Salibury, Wiltshire and died in Bognor, Sussex, on 22nd Sep 1903.
He is one of six Richardsons that were organists.
Assistant organist of Salibury Cathedral 1845 - 1863.
Organist of Salibury Cathedral 1863 - 1881.

Here's a little tribute to the wonderfull Father Willis Organ of Salibury Cathedral that was one of the first Hauptwerk samples and continues to be a most satisfying organ to play luckily now without having to know someone or live in hope.
This is the only piece of music I can find by a Cathedral organist before Bertram Luard-Selby who was only there for 3 years. Richardson had a long tenure at the Cathedral and was there when the current organ was installed and started to be use in 1876. Imagine the committee meetings he would have attended.
He wrote a Service in F and the Anthems I will give thanks and Turn Thee, O Lord as well as editing music.

After the last overhaul in 1993 the organ is now getting some TLC and there is a fund raising program to which members might like to contubute.
