This is the Tiento the Falsas, that Andres de Sola based his Tiento de Quarta Tono on.
This is a real Tiento de Falsas, written in a far more strict style than the one of de Sola.
The first thirty-odd bars of this lengthy piece are largely used in de Sola's Tiento also, probably as a tribute to Heredia; after that he goes his own way, writing a Tiento in quite a different style with much more freedom and introducing themes that no longer have anything to do with Falsas, but are still based on Heredia's idea.
