Michel Corrette (1707-1795)
Opus 26: 6 Concertos for organ and chamber orchestra.
The author has planned that his concertos can also be played solo on the organ without any other instrument.
However the performer must adapt the score to his organ, which is quite common at this time.
On the title page of opus 26, Michel Corrette indicated this Warning:
"On the organ, you have to touch the Allegro on the Grand Jeu, the Adagio on the Flutes, and the Solo on the Cornet de Récit ..."
To highlight this French music with its particular characteristics,
I used the Forcalquier organ (French style - I do not have any else) and I chose registrations that are often found in the pieces of Corrette or other musicians of that time.
When playing with an orchestra, it is better to adopt a completely different registration to highlight the instruments of the orchestra.
