Here is another interesting, rarely performed, work, this time by the Parisian composer André Fleury.
This marks my 85th Youtube video. You might wonder why I make these recordings. First, thanks to Hauptwerk it is easy: you press one button to record, one to stop, and one to play back. No recording engineer necessary. (However, I could not have made these videos without the assistance and support of my page turning, piston pushing, video recording husband.) My philosophy is if the recording doesn’t work today, perhaps tomorrow or next week. When I first started producing these videos 10 years ago, the quality of the typical organ recording on YouTube was nowhere near CD quality. I knew I could do better and it also occurred to me that it would be nice if I could record a few of my favorite pieces to listen to when I am no longer able to play. I am now 71.
Ten years later I have recorded works, the vast majority of which I had never played before, or knew about. It has been a real joy to learn all of this music for the instrument that I love.
