Erwin Horn was born 1940 in Würzburg, where he studied theology, education, music theory, and church music. He worked as an organist and cantor in Würzburg and Regensburg. From 1977-1997 he taught organ and music theory in Regensburg and Würzburg, where he also headed the conservatory from 1997 to 2001.
