Norberto Guinaldo (b. 1937) — Prelude (1975) for organ
Norberto Guinaldo (b. 1937) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and studied at the School of Fine Arts (University of La Plata) and Catholic University (Buenos Aires) with Hermes Forti and Alberto Ginastera. He holds a master’s degree in theory and composition from the University of California at Riverside and the Diplome Superieur d’Orgue from the Schola Cantorum in Paris, France, where he studied with Jean Langlais. He also studied organ in the USA with Clarence Mader. In 1965, Guinaldo became organist of the United Methodist Church in Garden Grove, California. He has composed numerous works for organ and between 1964 and 1983 won several first prizes in various compositions. In addition, Guinaldo has also written piano and choral works and works for symphonic and chamber ensembles.
